Exploring Sonam's Wedding Charade with FabCouture

Sonam Kapoor’s wedding was the talk of the town and we are still getting over the gala celebration, colours, happiness and the ever flowing love and laughter. The Bollywood diva tied the knot with her long-time beau, Anand Ahuja and they rocked the event with their happily ever after love and smiles. Pictures of the event are out and, no surprise, Sonam was a stunning bride. One thing that absolutely surprised many, is the fact that the actress chose a traditional path, and stayed away from experimenting with her looks.

Sonam's Wedding CharadeWedding look: Sonam wore a traditional red lehenga that was designed by Anuradha Vakil. She teamed up the lehenga outfit with traditional jewellery; a sarpech on her head, a gold choker, a raani haar and the flowers known as haath phool. She wore a red choora as well.     The golden lotus print on the lehenga was all about tradition, and the basic bold colours of red and gold as seen on the bride. We love Sonam’s make up as always by the ever awesome Namratha Soni, who has always made Sonam look ravishing with her magical skills. Her wedding make-up was not too bold and bright, it was subtle with kajal done right, and reddish pink lips.

Mehendi look: This is definitely our favourite look: golden ivory lehenga with a high neck blouse. The work on the lehenga and blouse were done with utmost craftsmanship. Abu Jan Sandeep Khosla’s work made Sonam look beyond fab at her mehendi celebration. It was a chikankari and zardozi lehenga that was made using 40 different stitch techniques. Believe it or not, every  panel of the skirt had unique motifs in gold and silver zardozi, zari, pearls, Swarovski crystals and sequins. Lastly, what we should know is the fact that it took 18 months to make it! She teamed it up the with gold jewellery that was just about right; big jhumkas, choker necklace and bangles.

Sonam's Wedding Charade with FabCoutureReception: Sonam chose to keep her reception outfit simple, and that was much of a surprise yet again to many! She worse a grey and off-white lehenga with a chevron print on it. It was an unconventional look that turned many heads. It was balanced with gorgeous jewellery, and subtle make-up combined with bold lips.

She managed to change into a flowy white kaftan to dance and enjoy her reception night with all the guests. We love this look as she manages to effortlessly look stunning in this Abu Jani-Sandep Khosla kaftan with chikankari work.

Sonam and her beau Anand Ahuja looked beautiful together, and we fell in love with this couple even more. The grand celebration was an eventful gathering and the couple looked happy as ever.
